Class Policies
In order to create a classroom that is conducive to learning, some class policies will be implemented and enforced.
Class expectations
Expected Student Conduct
No person may possess the following items on school property: tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, intoxicants, fireworks, weapons or fake weapons, gang paraphernalia, animals, or any items that may represent a direct threat to the health, safety, or education of students. Violence in any form is strictly prohibited on school property at all times. Harassment is not allowed in any form. No student, teacher or other person inside campus may discriminate or harass anyone else at any time. Infractions to these rules are grounds for dismissal (as decreed in the Montebello Unified School District Code of Student Conduct).
Snacks/Cell Phones/Restrooms
Classroom is to be completely free of trash when we leave at 9:30 pm. Therefore, any snack or drink brought into the class must be disposed of in the trash cans outside of class. For this reason, I recommend you only bring small snacks to the class, if you must bring anything at all. Things such as a small bag of chips or peanuts and small bottles of water or soda (no cans please) are ideal. All cell phones must be turned to “silent” or “vibrate” during class time. If you must go to the restroom in the middle of class time, quietly exit the class without disturbing classmates.
Dress/Attire
We are in class for two straight hours. Therefore, please dress in attire that will be comfortable to you for the duration of the class. Please refrain from wearing articles that may be offensive to some people. We will discuss in class what “offensive” might be as a class.
